TV1 RTF 03222
Television Production 1
This course has been discontinued for new students, replaced by RTF 03.230 Television Production, as of Fall 2022.
Prior to Fall 2022: REQUIRED for all RTF majors & Pre-req for upper level production courses for students pursuing the RTF Sports Production Concentration in Sports Communication & Media. 3 credits.
This TV production course provides students hands-on introductory experience in a variety of production situations, both in multi-camera studio-based broadcast production and single-camera field and post modes. Students gain basic competencies in all studio and control room experiences through a series of practical exercises and project work. Building on skills acquired in the Foundations of Media Production course, additional education in ENG/EFP styled field production work and editing is provided through the creation of real-world PSAs for nonprofit entities and public service/safety campaigns. Programming serving the public interest is created in the final talk/magazine show project, which is recorded live in-studio but includes content obtained and edited from the field.
