Camera Equipment Comparison - Products and Cost

In 2011 the Philadelphia Phillies upgraded their in-stadium "PhanaVision" production system to full High Definition (1080/59.94i). Every piece of video equipment was replaced from the switcher to graphics computers to replay systems. The Phillies modeled their equipment acquisitions after those of Comcast SportsNet, the broadcast partner of the Phillies - so everything used by the Phillies matches something used by CSN. There are many components of the system and equipment items that, when summed together, amount to over $10 million.

At Rowan University, the Bozorth Hall TV studios were upgraded to HD (1080/59.94i) in 2016 with a budget less than $1 million. Students use a lot of equipment that is the same in terms of function, process and broadcast capability, but not quite as expensive.
